Last Wednesday GOSO’s Stand Against Violence East Harlem (SAVE) was proud to co-organize a mixer for East Harlem’s Community-Based Organizations to exchange information, brainstorm around on issues we are all facing, and establish lines of communication that will help us collaborate, organize and create community-focused opportunities.
On October 17, Getting Out and Staying Out is hosting our inaugural Our Voices Ourselves women’s breakfast at The Yale Club. This event will gather New York City’s influential, powerful, and committed voices to network and discuss the impact of violence on women and the steps we can take to prevent and find a cure for violence in our communities.
GOSO loves celebrating the success of people in our community. We love it because Harlem-based Black-owned businesses enrich and strengthen our community.
Vikki Pryor: GOSO has made great headway and, since our inception nearly 20 years ago, we have helped over 15,000 at-risk or legal system-involved individuals. Our participants face obstacles in most aspects of their lives, including the deep stigma that makes it difficult for them to plan for the future and achieve stability.
On April 20, 2023, more than 250 guests gathered at the iconic New-York Historical Society to honor GOSO community champions and celebrate our participants – their strength and determination to change their lives despite all obstacles.
On April 20, GOSO will host its annual Gala at the New-York Historical Society in Manhattan and you can be a part of it – wherever you are that night, and even if you don’t like big parties.
