Forging Ahead with our 3-Year Plan
Early last spring, GOSO made an appeal to supporters to help with our recovery from the East Harlem explosion and jump-start a 3-year to dramatically increase capacity and improve program services. We are deeply grateful for the wonderful response we received and are pleased to announce that we have signed a lease on a highly visible street-level space a few doors down from our East Harlem office. Renovations are virtually completed and we expect to be moved into the new space by the second week of January.

Getting Out and Staying Out (GOSO) attended a convening in Washington, D.C. dedicated to “Promoting Innovation in Civic Engagement” to talk abotu GOSO’s participation in the participatory budgeting (PB) process in New York City. PB is a democratic Process where community residents decide hwo to spend at least $1,000,000 of discretionary fundign set aside by City Council memberos on physical improvements in their communities.
