SOCIAL WORK MONTH: Sarah Blanco

GOSO is staffed by a dedicated team of licensed social workers. In honor of Social Work Month, we asked our team members to discuss their passions for their profession and reflect on their experiences at GOSO. In the first part of this series, Sarah Blanco speaks about how she chose her career and the transformative potential of social work.

GOSO is now on Facebook and Twitter

New York – Getting Out and Staying Out—New York City’s Most Innovative social service agency, focused on assisting justice-involved young men—has recently joined Twitter and Facebook to increase awareness of the tremendous work it is doing and to assist in fundraising efforts to continue providing solution-focused services to program participants.

Forging Ahead with our 3-Year Plan

Early last spring, GOSO made an appeal to supporters to help with our recovery from the East Harlem explosion and jump-start a 3-year to dramatically increase capacity and improve program services. We are deeply grateful for the wonderful response we received and are pleased to announce that we have signed a lease on a highly visible street-level space a few doors down from our East Harlem office. Renovations are virtually completed and we expect to be moved into the new space by the second week of January.
