GOSO is thrilled to have Dr. Julie Neches join us as a featured speaker at our October 17th, Our Voices Ourselves networking breakfast.
Dr. Julie Neches is a clinical psychologist with a private practice. She has an undergraduate degree from Cornell University, a doctorate in clinical psychology from Catholic University of America, and she completed her internship in the psychiatry department at Harvard Medical School. She serves on the boards of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of both New York State and Westchester and is the Second Vice President on both boards. She serves on the Criminal Justice and the Government Affairs advocacy task forces of NAMI-NYS. Julie is a mental health advocate and speaker. She has presented at Criminal Intervention Team (CIT) trainings for police officers. She talked about her own daughter who interfaced with the criminal justice and mental health systems. She writes on Substack Mourning Mom Time Travels: Grieves, Heals, and Laughs. Most importantly, Dr. Julie Neches is a mother who journeyed with her daughter through mental illness starting with moving on campus when Alix was first diagnosed with bipolar disorder and ultimately ending with her untimely death.
