GOSO is proud to honor The Child Center of New York (TCCNY) at our 2nd annual Our Voices Ourselves networking breakfast. In 2023, GOSO launched a transformative partnership with TTCNY to enhance and expand our mental health and supportive services for young people impacted by violence and at-risk youth in East Harlem. This collaboration has been pivotal in addressing the severe mental health challenges faced by our community members.
Under the expert guidance of The Child Center, GOSO successfully opened a Mental Health Outpatient Satellite Clinic in East Harlem. This clinic has enabled us to offer an array of critical services, including psychotherapeutic counseling, psychiatric evaluations (essential for supportive housing in New York City), medication management, therapeutic group counseling, and family therapy—including teleconferencing with incarcerated individuals. These services are seamlessly integrated with GOSO’s existing clinical offerings, all delivered by a culturally competent team that understands and connects with the unique experiences of our participants.
Since the inception of this partnership, GOSO has seen substantial improvements in clinical training, oversight, and compliance, alongside enhanced administrative support and access to electronic health records. This collaboration with The Child Center of New York has significantly strengthened GOSO’s ability to meet the complex needs of our community, and we are honored to recognize their invaluable contribution.
