Milestone Ceremony Celebrates the Achievements of 70 Participants

On June 13th over 40 people joined us at GOSO’s headquarters for our annual Milestone ceremony where we celebrated our participants who have taken significant steps in their academic and personal development through our program. This year’s event was uplifting as we received remarks from our President and CEO, Michelle Pryce-Screen, our Vice President of Programs, Yenia Vasquez, and department heads who praised our participants for all their hard work. Additionally, we were joined by Council Member Yusef Salaam who shared an inspiring keynote message with the present participants touching on his personal experience with the criminal-legal system and how he prevailed despite the many challenges he faced.

This year’s graduating cohort is a group of resilient individuals who have achieved remarkable milestones. They have obtained their GED, received college acceptance letters, acquired vocational and employment certifications, completed internships, maintained permanent employment, and completed the Emerging Leaders program. We are extremely inspired by all the hard work our participants have put in and cannot wait to see what’s next for them on their life’s journey. We invite you to join us in celebrating these bright futures by making a donation in support of the Milestone Ceremony today.
