Over 100 influential and committed voices gathered for breakfast at The Yale Club of New York City on October 17 to network and discuss issues related to young people and the criminal legal system, social justice, and violence prevention. The highlight of the morning was a thought-provoking panel discussion led by Michelle Pryce-Screen, GOSO’s Executive Director and Chief Program Officer. Joining her on the panel were distinguished experts and advocates, including Nicole Jordan-Martin, Sonali Rajan, and Ivy Wolf Turk. The discussion centered on the critical perspective of community violence as a public health issue and highlighted GOSO’s expanded programming to serve all genders.
A key moment of the event was the recognition of longtime GOSO supporter and former Board member, Edie Weiner, who was honored for her outstanding contributions to GOSO and commitment to the cause. Other awardees at the event included: Arlene Goldsmith, Gloria Ortiz, Ivy Woolf Turk, NYC Council Member Diana Ayala, and NYC Council Member Carlina Rivera.
GOSO extends its thanks to the following sponsors: NYC Health + Hospitals / Community Care, Apple Bank, Deloitte, Debevoise & Plimpton and all who attended or contributed to the event for making it the huge success that it was.
