Every year, GOSO hosts a holiday party to honor all our of clients’ hard work and dedication to the program! This event is always one of the most special of the year for the GOSO family, because each young man receives an award from his Career Manager to celebrate his unique achievements! Our Career Managers, all licensed social workers, and the rest of our staff love taking this time to recognize our clients and encourage them to continue on the positive path they’ve created.
The party took place on December 19th, 2017 at our brand new education center! The night was made even more special by the group of volunteers who came to deliver the dinner, serve food, clean-up, and bring joy to each and every client! Our volunteers are the backbone of what we do, and going into the new year, we are so grateful that we have such a caring and dedicated community of supporters.
Volunteers (from left to right), Julia (far left), Shaniece, Alanna, Peter, and Hank all had an amazing time getting to know our clients and contributing to a very special evening!
GOSO Career Manager, Lauren Bricker, honors her client, Jerrel, for his hard work!
Michael (left) poses with his Career Manager, Geoffrey Golia (GOSO’s Director of Clinical Services). Michael has been a model of success for other clients at GOSO. Michael started a job as a dishwasher at Dos Toros through GOSO’s employment program, GOSOWorks, and within a year has become a branch manager.
Cindee (left) and Sal (right) were the team behind making sure the dinner arrived on time, and still hot! Cindee’s brother owns a BBQ restaurant in Long Island, Bobbique, and they graciously catered our event. Our clients were raving all night!
Volunteers, Shaniece (left) and Wes (right), were on hand throughout the evening, setting up food and drinks, and serving food to clients.
