Getting Out and Staying Out's Julia Friedman

Julia Friedman, LMSW, Career Manager and Reentry Services Coordinator:


Ms. Friedman provides education, employment, and supportive counseling to participants in the community-based program and on Rikers Island. On Rikers Island, Ms. Friedman begins the supportive relationships which continues throughout their re-entry process into the community-based program. Ms. Friedman received her B.A. from Drew University in 2013 and her M.S.W. from New York University Silver School of Social Work in 2015. Prior to becoming a full-time Career Manager, Ms. Friedman was an intern at GOSO from 2014-2015. Ms. Friedman’s interest in working with justice-involved persons began when she took a Sociology of Gender class with women serving time at Edna Mahan’s Correction Facility for Women in Clinton, New Jersey.
